Ton-up: Staffin Community Trust reaches 100 members!

ONE HUNDRED people are now members of Staffin Community Trust (SCT), almost 1 in 5 of the resident population.

The milestone was reached recently and SCT’s chairman believes the growing membership is testament to the local support and encouragement from the district.

Remembrance Sunday Services in Staffin & Kilmuir

THE ultimate sacrifice made by men from Trotternish who served in the Boer and First and Second world wars, and military personnel from across the Atlantic, will be remembered this weekend.

Four services will take place at the Culnacnoc, Staffin, Kilmaluag and Kilmuir war memorials on Remembrance Sunday.

The Culnacnoc service will commence at 2.30pm before the Staffin commemoration at 3pm. The Staffin service will also remember the stricken American crew of the Flying Fortress which hit Beinn Edra more than 70 years ago, during WWII. The ...
