Matheson duo reign supreme at return of Staffin’s Angling Competition

A RAINY Saturday provided the perfect conditions for landing fish at the resurrected Staffin Angling Competition.

The annual summer contest was hugely popular but went into abeyance in recent years. There was a keen appetite locally for it to return and it was held last Saturday (27.7) through Staffin Community Trust’s Skye Ecomuseum activities programme.

More than £27,000 raised after decade of Staffin Sheepdog Trials

AN ARGYLL handler and his dog were crowned the winners of the 2019 Staffin Sheepdog Trials, as the annual event passed a significant milestone.

The regal sounding ‘Queen’ and her owner Stuart Davidson, from Dunoon, scored the most points on the day at Ellishadder with the action judged by Invergarry-based Mike McNally.
