SERVICES at Staffin’s two war memorials will take place this weekend to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, 100 years after the First World War ended.
Two services will be held in the district. The first one starts at the Culnacnoc War Memorial at 2.30pm where wreaths will be laid and a two-minute silence observed. The second service will take place at 3pm at the Staffin War Memorial. Everybody is welcome.

TWO new donation boxes have been placed at the new Staffin viewing platform to help meet the development’s running costs.
Staffin Community Trust opened the platform, new footpaths and a car park at Lealt gorge in August, as part of its Skye Ecomuseum development. THE STAFFIN community and visitors are warmly invited to offer their views on the proposals for upgraded signage for the Skye Ecomuseum over the next two days.
Design firm, Lateral North, will be on hand with Staffin Community Trust to show the plans for the ecomuseum.

A MUCH-needed affordable housing, health and business development in Staffin has taken a major step forward after securing a significant government grant.

STAFFIN’S new viewing platform at Lealt Gorge, which is a key attraction in a major community-led heritage development, is now open to the public.
